Gibson Exhaust

Does anyone have Gibson? How do they sound? I am looking for something louder than stock but not to loud. I really like the sound of the Mustang GTs. I am looking at Gibsons Dual Sport Exhaust in the new Moss Motors sale catalog. My main concren is sound, not performance. I think any aftermarket muffler is probably better than factory, performace wise.

Hey, do we get a discount from Moss Motors?

Gibson isn't exactly know for their noise. they're more of a performance exhaust. low noise but max performance.

I had it another F-150 with a 302 and didn't even know it was aftermarket. I thought it was the factory exhaust. imagine my surprise when the muffler guy cut that puppy out of there

unless they've changed recently, I'd suggest you get a Magnaflow. I've got the #16614 kit (single in dual out). do a search, you'll find that the majority of people prefer Maggies over any other brand.

sorry, don't know about the discount part

If you are really looking for sound then you might want to go with a Magnaflow. The Gibson will save you a few bucks though. You can find more info here: http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/exhausts-mufflers/20A50080A1.aspx

I recently put on a gibson dual sport extreme. The sound is very mellow. You only really now it is there under acceleration. At high way speeds it is not very loud. I went with this exhaust because I was concerned about fit since I have an aftermarket hitch. The fit is great. If you want more of a mellow rumble I would suggest this exhaust.

Gibson Exhausts

Got the stainless dual sport on my 06 FX4. I like the sound. Has a deep rumble. Also good design and fit. My son has Magnaflow 40 on his Titan. Too loud for my taste. You can hear him a block away.
I think if you like a strong sound but not excessive you will like the dual sport. Hope this helps.

Flowmaster 40? if so, then I agree, those puppies are loud

Magnaflow doesn't rate their mufflers in the 40/50/60 series

For a tamer mellow sound, Gibson will be your best bet, with Magnaflow a close second. Moss motors has a great catalog, but youll almost certainly find lower prices from the vendors on the boards here. Here is a link to the F150 Gibson products on our site

I had a 2003 f150 with a 4.6L to which I did a hyper tech computer/k&N cold air intake along with a Gibson stainless header AND Gibson cat back stainless systems. The power increase was amazing!! The gibsons did not make a lot of noise at idle but you could definitely tell that they were on there when your foot hit the floor.

I've got two 04' 5.4 F150 Supercrews. My 4x4 has a Magnaflow and it sounds great but in my opinion it could be louder. On my 2wd I have a Bassani and I must say that it sounds great...louder and has a deeper tone.
