I don't have the grinding noise when turing as you described, but I will inquire at my dealership to see if my Extended Warranty will cover the clutch packs.
Although I will tell you, the modifier only solved the rubbing or grinding noise when turning left or right, it did nothing for the hum. Which I believe is the clutch packs.
Thanks, that's what I was looking for. Being it only happens when accelerating, I know it's not the tires and all items that are moving all the time. I am convinced it is drive train related.
You might also wanna mention that there are 3 or 4 TSBs related to the rear diff, if your extended warranty is the bumper to bumper (mine is) the rear diff will be included. Ford knows full-well that the rear diff is a major prob in these trucks.
I brought it to the dealer just out of warranty and he said they could try the fluid (acting like they didn't know it would work) or I could pay $2500 to fix it. Still going around with the idiot at the dealer trying to get the quote loaded in the Ford system so they can evaluate my claim. He's down to $1K for the fix now but still no quote. Need to try and get this wrapped up this week now that I believe a new differential will fix the humming.
