It may be the power steering pump. I notice a lower hum and some other noise when I either turn all the way to the right or all the way to the left. I know the reservoir is a little low. Do you know what kind a power steering fluid I need?
Type f transmission fluid.
You really need to go a local parts store and get a cheap Chilton or Hanes Ford truck repair manual. That will get you going in the right direction as far a learning basic things and general maintenance. It also has lots of pictures and that is what I use. lol Or you can even go to the local library to look at the actual paper book before you buy it. Remember those things before the internet and Kindle?
Also order a bunch of free 73-79 truck parts catalogs to lean item names, make it easier come time to go to the parts store. LMC, Jeffs Bronco Graveyard (78/79 Bronco's are the same front end and lots of interior parts), Macs, Dennis Carpenter, National Parts Depot ect...
I'm having the same problem plus I can feel vibration in the gas peddle it starts making the noise when it builds up boost between 5-15 psi
