exhaust que.
I went Wednesday morning to get my truck repaired at the dealership and after, I went down to the performance [muffler] shop and talked it over with the guy what I wanted. Time passed by after the work was done and I got to test drive the truck with my "hopefully-loud-[enough]-sounding-exhaust". As soon as I took off it was nice and loud yet mellow when it idled or stayed at a consistent speed.
It's hard to find a muffler that give you both the loud throaty sound AND the deep grumble hum. My 97 had the throaty and 03 had the grumble with a tad bit of loudness. My 03 250 has both. Yay!
You're probably asking "What did you finally get done to it?"
Good question. I got a dynomax (I think) stainless steel glasspack with imitation dual exhaust, chrome tips and they even topped it off with that special black paint. NICE.
The owner was VERY informative and proved the prior auto shop owners and (sorry) but a few of you guys wrong. I can't tell you exactly word for word (or at all) what he said but I'm satisfied with what I have received.
So I now trimed it in chrome and I'm good to go.
Thanks to all of you for your helpful answers.
Andrew
