Instrument cluster?

Anyone know if the 78-79 instrument cluster, (spedo, oil, temp, etc,) will change for a 73. Mine has lights for the oil 73, and I've found one in a 78 or 9 with gauges. I know I'll have to change sending units on the oil, but what other mods would have to be made?

Nope.

two entirely different systems

Warning light clusters are 14 pin

Gauge clusters are 18 pin

Oil/Temp sending units are specific to system as well.

You could always upgrade to a newer wiring harness up to 1977.

Ok, well just a thought. found this thing free and thought I'd get it but not going to rewire truck for it just yet.

Throw it on eBay, those things can draw some coin...unless someone here wants to make you an offer. Just make sure it doesn't get wasted or destroyed. They are getting hard to come by.
