I'll keep my opinion to myself about buying foreign. That being said, the real question is whether or not you can trust the ranger. If you can honestly answer yes, then keep driving it. If not, either fix it until it satisfies you, or buy peace of mind, if that's a Toyota for you, do it. My suggestion is to fix the Ranger, and save money toward the purchase of a truck later, when the Ranger finally isn't worth investing in. Only you can make the call, and in the end you need to feel comfortable with your D.D., both in it's reliability and capeability. Just FWIW, I bought an F150 new, rather than a Ranger, and now I cry every time I even think about driving it, because I hate to fill the tank. The price of fuel will make good-vs-bad economy matter more than you realize now, don't buy a truck you already feel will be an expensive driver! Just my opinion...
