Question Underhood Wire Routing and Component Location

Does anyone have some underhood pictures of 66 f100 6 cylinder Truck. That is original under the hood. My memory is not as good as I thought it was I cannot remember the wiring harness routing and some of the parts locations. It was just four years ago that I took it apart. Also some of it was not right to begin with. Thanks for any help that anyone can give me.

Not sure if any help, wanted some pic's of 6 cylinder dura park setup and found where another member had posted some pic's of his 66 engine compartment. If you scan his gallery forward there are about 2-3 pic's of his engine compartment. He has a real nice truck.

I know the alternator, battery / starter is on the passenger side; the coil & headlights run along the drivers side; can't remenber if any light wire run pass the battery tray; I believe they run all lights (Head & signals) thru drivers side radiator support.

Thanks for the link, it was very helpful. And you are right he has done a very nice job with his truck. I can see just the top of voltage regulator on the left side. That was one of the things that I was not sure of as I had to do some repair work to my radiator support, I guess I repaired a few to many holes. For any others who read this thread that have more detailed pictures they will be appreciated.

Thanks for the help.

In my effort to post pic's seemed to have screwed up and now when ever I try and create my gallery it closes my internet connection. If I can figure it out, will post pic's of the wire harness routeing on my 65.

I have these in my gallery under tech stuff. The last pic might help with voltage reg, horn, headlight harness. Notice that the votage reg harness runs between the radiator and support then under the batt box to the solinoid and alt. The first pic is of the firewall before I removed all the "goodstuff" foam the PO used to seal all the extra holes and overdrive boxes. You can see where the overdrive boxes for the 3 speed was mounted on the firewall to the right of the master. If you notice in the picture the wire harness running to the solinoid from the fire wall are kinked. The PO installed a Ammeter with 16g wire that melted and burned so he hid it with new electrical tape. A good example of what to look for in older trucks.

Oh... the lower harness on the drivers fender was something the PO installed for side marker lights. I took that from there and put it in the main harness for the lights. It too was a nightmare under the multiple layer of tape, 5 wires for ???. He only needed to run one 16g wire then split it at the first light then route it over to the other one.

It looks like you did a lot of improvements from May until October, You have really got it looking good. The PO of my truck could not do his own work and had to rely on others to do the work. When I got the truck they had the wrong brake drums on the front. They also replaced the right rear axle with the wrong one. The drum would only go up to cover about 3/4 of the brake shoes. And numerous other things. It is bad enough if you are a do it yourselfer and mess things up, but it is something else to pay someone to screw it up for you.
