fuel leak

Question fuel leak

on the top of the fuel filter/water sep.there is a rectangle plug in , i think its the fuel heater.THE STUPID THING LEAKS!i i live in mid west GA..IT gets in 30's perty often and the 20's once and a while.can i unplug that thing.i always warm it up about 15 fo 20 mins in mornings.fuel costs to much to let it leak on the ground. please give opinions.

That is the fuel heater, there are 2 orings one seals the heater assy to the header body, the other seals the terminal to the heater innerds.
