I'm not going to spin this motor past about 5500.. I'd prefer to have a screamer, but not toooo crazy, than super low end grunt. It's hard enough to get traction now with 3.08s. With the 4.10s I'm going to get it'll more than make up for bringing the powerband up a bit (might save my trans for a bit as well).
Oh an flareside, this has always been in the works but with the new job and better pay it's much more in my grasp. Hell, I know how I'd spend 20 g's if it was handed to me at the moment lol.
I hear that, I'd love to drop a rebuilt Lightning motor in my truck after of course a full resto from the ground up......not too mention it wouldn't be a stock 5.8......Luck
You dont want a rebuilt Gen1 engine, they charge way too much beacuse of what they are and they don't even come with the gt40 heads, the rebuilt longblocks fromford comewith E7TE's. Just get you a F4TE 5.8 block from late 94-96 bronco, f150 or f250, then redrill your gt-40 heads to 1/2" and have fun
