my tail gate has not worked in a very long time, today i decided to finally take it apart. it seems as though one of the rods goin to the right side of the tailgate is missing the yellow plastic clip that goes over the end that you can see is still on, and holding the left side rod in place to the handle mechanism. my question is, can you obtain the plastic clips by ordering new hardware or will i have to find it another way?

The clip comes by itself, it doesn't come with the rod.
The Ford part number listed is: E3TZ-1021952-A and this fits ALL >> F100/350's 1973/96 (1973/79 right & left / 1980/96 right side only).
But this part number has been updated, and I couldn't find the new part number, so a trip to the dealer will be necessary.
EDIT: I see Dennis has come up with a better suggestion while I was hunting for the updated p/n.
thanks for your help guys, i took dennis' suggestion and found a variety pack at the parts store for a few bucks and put it on the rod and clipped it back into the hinge mechanism. ill put the rest of the gate back together tomorrow when theres some more light out. ive also gotta fix where a few bolts go in on the right side at the latch on the tail gate itself as well, the little square pieces have poped out.
