Topper Question

I just got the original topper back for my 77 F-250. It was white with a green stripe around the edge and by the cab from the factory. Now it is black. My question is this, How rare was the topper with the body color stripe? I have never seen another with the stripe. It is going back to original, but I was curious about it. Any ideas?

Not rare, it was part of the "Tu-Tone" paint choice. I've seen several painted this way with body accent color stripe; it looks real sharp.

Thanks for the info, I really thought it was a rare thing, I can't ever remember seeing another. Can't wait to get it restored to original.

MIne was plain white,.

I painted my topper myself so it would blend into the silver of the truck better.
you can see it in my gallery.

I have never seen a striped canopy from the factory.

I'll check my 77 Brochure.

The back page of the '77 brochure shows the Tu-Tone paint combination choices, last example with the topper.

See also page 19 of the '78 brochure for a better illustration. And pages 23 & 35 of the "1976 Ford Recreation Vehicles" brochure for photos of trucks with the color striped topper.
