What is the max boost before the heads or head gaskets pop? I was in a little bump to bumper race and I boosted up to 38 to 39 pounds boost. I did backed off. But I was wondering......

should be able to hit 29 max. Thats what i hit in my 06

 

you hit 29 as soon as you floor it or does it peak at 20-25 then creap up to 29??

 

hey dogman, your not running a tuner are ya? if not id get the turbo checked, sounds like the vanes are sticking and giving you overboost. shouldn't beat over 30-32. Stock hg don't like it.

 

Off the line it will go straight to 25 then a split second shoot to 29

 

Mine would shoot up to 20 and then if I give a little more throttle it will shoot up to 30-31 easy. A little too easy, but I do enjoy that power.

 

are these readings from the stock turbo guage or no? my stock one goes to 20 then creeps up

 

thats normal for the lower gears with no load.

 

My readings are from both. They are normally within 1 to 2 psi of each other.

 

mine were from the stock guage

 

I'm going to pull it and clean it up. I was thinking the samething about the boost. The dealer is being a butthead about it so, I'll clean it. It was to be replaced but I dont think they did so if not I'll hand it over to some ford people I know.
