What Gives

Just put the 04 L away for winter , but first one lost hell ride.
Never notice this before, when I manualy shift the trany from 1-2 at 5500 the engine seams to loose power.
But if I let off the throttle it will shift and the power is back.
Only does this if I manualy shift 1-2,didn't notice this problem 2-3 shift.
Never drove it this hard before to notice the problem.
Any ideas thanks.

Second only to neutral drops, I'd have to say what you're doing (manually shifting an automatic) is one of the best ways to kill your tranny.

There is no reason....none, zero, zip, nada...no reason to manually shift your tranny. All you're doing is shortening it's life span DRAMATICALLY.

You should never, NEVER try to shift for your tranny.

You list a valve body in your mod list. Who's valve body do you have? FTVB, LFBVB, Level 10 VB?

Let your tranny do it's job without ANY manual input by you. Enjoy the crisp shifting provided by your VB.

Keep doing the manual shifting and you'll soon be calling BTS for a new, built tranny! Serious as a heart attack bro!

I'd have to agree with Stewart. But to answer your question, its probably the rev limiter. You said 5500 right? Does it make a nice little farting sound when this happens? My guess is it does.

The valve body was installd by a svt dealer.the trany shifts nice firm, but some times it shifts short.I mean 1-2 shift is fast. But why does the truck fall flat on it's face,at 5500 untill i let off the pedal.
When I don't manualy shift, but put my foot in it 1-2 shift is at 4700-4800 and spins the tires.I just tried the manual thing this time and noticed the lose of power at 5500.
Is there a rev limiter at this rpm.The truck has never been abused im the second owner.
It even has the original tires on it still ,and only 20k on the the truck .So I dont think there is any abuse issues.
Thanks

I'd have to agree with WD, it's probably defueling because of the rev limiter.
