after a whole night on the plug in 15 degree weather, how warm is your heat on startup? do you have a hot truck? or is it just warm?

If I remember right mine is just warm. It's not blazin hot but it's enough to start getting the ice off the windshield.

The 1000w heater will only warm the motor for the startup.
While its heating its also loosing heat from heat rise/absorb thru the rad / H-core / motor. If the thermo was to open or in bypass (stuck) you will have even less temp. The heater has no temp control on it for the same reason. If you can get 90/100* your doing real good.

You can plug the heater in on a hot summer day and it will not puke the coolant.

Mine is warm. It barely gets up to the "O" in NORMAL on the gauge.

mine is warm and I rarely have ice on the windshield, and warm is definitely better than hand numbing cold
