Fuel Line Replacement
Fuel Line Replacement
I tried to unscrew my fuel line from my fuel filter (Carter YFA). The fuel line screw nut was already pretty beat up and would not budge when I tried to unscrew it while holding the fuel filter with another wrench. The wrench on the fuel line nut slipped and the filter turned and tourqued the fuel line slightly. It seems like I will need to replace the line since I won't be able to remove my carb without trashing the line. Do they make sythenthetic flexible fuel lines or do I have to go to the junk yard and hope to find a replacement? - Dan
Fuel Line Replacement
the same thing happened to me. but at the time, i had to replace the fuel filter. so, i went to my local shop and bought a filter that screws right into the carb and uses a rubber hose on the other end. i had to cut the fuel line about an inch from the old filter. then took the whold line off, blew the line out w/ an air compressor and put he new filter on the carb. next, i put the original line back on the pump and attached a rubber hose and clamp on the filter to the stock line and clamped both sides up and was good to go.
oh yea when you cut the line, make sure you do when the motor is cold and there will be some fuel leakage. so make sure you clean it up.
