An 8 mile tow will be over with in 15 minutes. Hell take a chance, flip grafekie the bird when you pass him, and holler blank off. You will be home before any cops can come out. my 2
If the vehicle being towed does not have brakes I think towing with a rope is out of the question, unless you do not car about the front of the car being towed and the back of the tow vehicle. How did we all survive before we knew EVERYTING was unsafe?
car is moved, the towbar would've required making a adapter. I had a friend haul it on a flat bed. I'm planning to buy a tow dolly, getting to uhaul when your "fun" car breaks something at the track or at night would be pain. Thanks for the input!

glad it all worked out for you... thanks for the report back.
Yep, many of us are more than happy to help, don't know where you are in the state, but there are members all over. The chapters help us notice who is nearby, also making your location public helps as well. I have two trailers myself, as well as access to more.
As a side note, count your blessings about not getting caught, it is illegal here in Iowa to tow with anything less than a towbar minimum. I won't say I have never done it, just that it is a ticketable offense...
Call around to a few tow companies. You might find a company that is willing to move your vehicle 8 miles for $40, if it can be done on their schedule.
I've worked deals like this numerous times with tow companies to move parts cars. I pay the driver cash and don't ask for a receipt.
