on of my friends has a '99 psd and is about to get a 4" turbo back exhaust and he said that if his downpipe will work on my truck then i can have it. and being as his is round all the way down and not a pancake, i said.. saweeeett!!! so now i'm trying to figure out if the bends are the same in the downpipe. can y'all help??? i can always cut the part that bolts to my charger off of my stock dp and weld it onto the sd dp if i need to.
so the bends are the same? if so then that would be awesome!!! what did you do to make your 4" work? will it bolt straight up to my charger the way it is? it is the stock downpipe for the super duty that i'm putting on, not a 4", just to clarify.
i used the flange from a 99 welded to my stock ebpv housing, which eliminated my ebpv. the easier way to mate the 99 dp our stock turbo output flange is like you mentioned, cut the flanges off the 99 and the stock dp and weld the stock flange to the 99 dp. i knew what u were talkin about. my 4" dp was made for the superduties also and i didn't hafe a problem with the bends, but it is a 2 piece dp. you may have to change the angle that the flange is at. if i picture it right, our turbo is square to the block and i think the 99+ turbo is angled a little. i may be wrong on that but if you're cutting and welding, that shouldn't be a problem anyway. the rest of the bends should be ok. you may also have to weld the flange on as it sits in the truck. i doubt you will be able to fit the new dp in one piece
