Check Behind Your Intake For A 90 Elbow Vacuum Line ,you Cant See It Without Climbing Over The Motor.my 1998 5.4 Had A Similar Problem-the 90 Had Ruptered In The Miiddle.
Had the same thing happen on my 99 V10, same elbow to blame. The lean/rich codes are from the computer trying to compensate for the vacuum leak. 10-1 this is your problem. Good luck!
thanks for the responces!! If it does turn out to be theis 90 degree elbow you are speaking of, where can I get a replacement? A Ford dealership? Thanks again!!!
Does anyone here know what this 90 degree elbow is listed as? What should I ask for a t the Ford dealer? What is it connected to behind the engine? So many questions so little time!
If the dealer cannot find it on thier parts diagram have them look on the diagram for the V-6 it has the same hose with the same part number. I cant remember if it was on this site or a different one but someone posted about it.
I believe the hose goes from the valve cover to the back of the throttle body, its the only 1" hose back there.
