The remote start in my 6.0L is acting strange. When I try to remote start it and the engine is cold it will run the starter for about .4 seconds regardless of how long I have it set for. It will usually start on the 3rd try but then will shutdown sometimes about 10seconds later. The shutdown diagnostics shows low or no rpm. I have it connected using the RPM wire designed for the PTO and it learned the tach but still has issues. Anyone install these things or can give some input?
There should be a jumper on the side of the Viper brain for TACH THRESHOLD, move it to the LOW setting, then reprogram the tach, but elevate the RPMS to 1800.
the 6.0 has a weak tach signal. you need a ford tach signal booster p/n 102818-2. mine did same thing after i installed it or you could set it to a timed crank mode if your viper has this feature only problem is it can grind your starter like this.
