As a new owner of a 03 f350cc,lb,4x4 I am looking for a set of nerf bars or steps that drop down from the truck.
I am a little on the short size and my wife is even shorter.
I am looking for any suggestions that anyone might have.
thank You
I has Smitty-bilt on my last truck, didn't like them very much. They flexed a lot, although they did get hit by sliding Lexus SUV (that lost control in the snow) without damage.
I'm replacing my factory steps with some Nfab steps. I looked at the amp-research steps, and the only reason I'm going with Nfab is to get the third step for the bed.
I love my Smittybilt steps! The factory ones that are similar hang wayyy too low for my taste. Mine are solid, no flex to them whatsoever. A friend has the Amp-research type steps on his truck with an 8 inch lift and 37's. They are nice too....but pricey!!!!
I like my Smittybuilt steps as well, but if you live in snow country I would recommend either stainless steel or something powder coated. My Smittybuilt are chrome, I do take my truck off the road quite a bit. My steps have been kinda sand blasted from rocks getting kicked up from the front tires and now I got rust on those spots. If you don't live in the snow country and don't take it off road the chrome will be fine. I think my next steps are going to be the Putco Boss Bars. The amp research are nice, but I could see snow getting caked on underneath the truck and then freezing them so they won't come down.
I agree with redford, the Ford OEM ones are great. They hold up real well. 90k miles and 5 salt filled New England winters and they atill look like new. They are firm and dont flex.
I had the dealer put on Ford nerf bars right away and we had them put on the widest ones so the dogs could get good footing when they get in the truck.

I also have the NFABs and man are those nice. I like the look, I like the lower profile, and I also got them over others for that 3rd step. Very handy.
