The 4.2L V6 shares it's bellhousing bolt pattern with the 302/351 Windsor V8s.

The Modular bellhousing pattern is different, so the trans won't work.

The bolt patterns are different. 100% positive.

The 4.2L is a Canadian Essex engine which shares the bellhousing pattern with the 302/351 SBF. Fact.

Modular bellhousing pattern is unique. Only very early production Modulars (1991 - 1992) shared bellhousing patterns with the Windsor V8s.

All of this information is readily available. Found this after a 1 minute Google search: http://manualtransmissionservice.com/tech.aspx

There are 4 bellhousing patterns available for the M5OD.
1. 4 cylinder
2. Cologne V6
3. Essex V6/Windsor V8
4. Modular

A 4.2L M5OD trans will not bolt up to a Mod motor.

Yep. But you'll run into numerous issues swapping a 351W into your truck.

Also many say the 351 is too powerful for the M5OD could be true they never put a manual behind a 351 or a 5.4l V8
