TRANSMISSION SWAP

I HAVE A 1999 F250 4X4 WITH A 6.8 V10. I HAVE A BROKEN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND AM WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOW HOW DIFFICULT AND WHAT PARTS I WOULD NEED TO SWAP IT OUT FOR A MANUAL TRANNY. I LIVE RIGHT NEXT TO THE BORDER WITH MEXICO SO IM SURE I CAN GET A MANUAL TRANNY ALOT CHEAPER THAN IN THE US. MOST WORK TRUCKS IN MEXICO ARE GAS WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS. A MANUAL TRANNY JUST SOUNDS MORE RELIABLE AND ALOT MORE FUN.

You will need a different PCM, I.E one from a manual V10.... also, the clutch setup, the pedal group, steering column, and wiring harnesses for the dash and the trans.

It does sound like a lot of work. Probably not worth it. Ill still probably quote the parts nessesary maybe its not that bad.

You probably won't know all the parts needed until you get too deep into it. Better off to buy a truck with what you want. or at least a parts truck, so you can get everything off of it you need.
