I just recently started installing an overhead console from a 94 Eddie Bauer into my 93 XLT. I realized that I spliced one of the courtesy light wires into the wrong wire. I had the right colors on the wire, but I think it might have been one of the wires from the 4WABS Control Module instead of the courtesy lamp wire. Not paying attention to the size of the wire. Anyway, after I did this the speedometer stopped working and the tranny started shifting real hard. Also when I was splicing into this wire I accidentally pulled it out the the harness. I have since removed the wire I spliced in and made sure that the wire is back in the harness properly, but I am still having the same problem. My question is, did I possibly screw up the PSOM or VSS wire under the dash. The odometer is working properly just no speedo and hard shifting. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Just checked resistance in the grey and black VSS wire between the speedo and the harness on the firewall and the wire is good. So is it possible the PSOM just went bad and the odometer and tripometer still work? Thanks.
I did check all the fuses and all are good. And I was wrong, the odo and tripometer both have displays but do NOT count up. They are currently stalled. So, the PSOM is not working other than the display
