I just aquired a 79 f150, base model and thought the same thing, what are the odds all of the dash lites are blown but the turn indicators and warning lamps work still? Well I pulled my cluster last night there are NO illumination lights on this thing. Its crazy but if I can get a camera ill try to get a pic if I can get it out of the dash.

the way I look at it, It failed once, why try to fix an old part. I did find the leak, it was right where it attaches to the sending unit. As much money as I've poored it to the truck whats another $7. Part ordered, can't wait, maybe now I won't run out of gas anymore!!!!!!!!!
