Should i buy a banks transcommander for my new 4R100 from Ford that i just installed this weekend? will that help it shift better, more appropriately while enhancing tranny life as well?
From alot of what I read here, the transcommander is actually more likely to reduce transmission life, then increase it. That may have been the edge product that caused problems, but I think it was both of them
I'm pretty sure that a Banks trans command only momentarily increases line pressure during shifts, and once the shift is accomplished the line pressure returns to the level commanded by the PCM for a given load condition. You're better off getting a DP chip which modifies the line pressure for all conditions, and also improves the shifting strategy in general.
i just overnighted my Edge Evo to DP-Tuner and jody is gonna re-flash it with his tunes. He said if i did not like the way it shifted after re-installing with DP Tunes that i could bring it down there and he would adjust my trans tunes the same way he did his wifes excursion. I'm tellin ya, they are just good people!! Every experience i have had with them has been nothing less than stellar! I don't know why i did not think of them to begin with?
My dad have a transcommand on his truck. It is absolutely junk. He hates it. He is waiting for me to remove it. It does not even compare to the BTS VB and Jody,s tunes. Do waste you time and money with anything that Banks sells. You can get a lot more with less money. Just ask the guys on here for their advise before you buy anything. It will save you time and money.
there is a reason banks gives u that bypass plug with almost everything they sell so when people buy it and get pissed with it all u gotta do is unplug it and but that bypass plug in
