I agree with rbaker about it seeming high. I paid 36,700 new for 05 lariet that had everything but sunroof.

agree with all above. you could have literally bought that truck new for not much more than that with good negotiating. tow package really doesn't add that much to the price. the heated mirrors were standard on xlt models and above. already having had the erg valve and turbo replaced, along with the other much smaller build quality issues, i wouldn't touch it for anything. take your time, and a good clean truck will present itself. for the price your talkinf for an '06, it would really have to be loaded to the gills, and never have been touched after final assembly for any reason, be it a window motor, turbo, or microscopic paint chip under the hood!! good luck on your hunt, and let us know what you find.

sounds like they got whatever monkey bizness was going on in the door fixed.

only thing that worries me is if the bad turbo was overboosting did it stress your gaskets/studs.

price is a little high but im sure you can deal on it if the truck is superclean.

if the heads are bad its stil on fords dime to 100K so its all good.

enjoy!

hey guys just saw the truck yesturday and i was in mint condition the exterior was awsome. i had it up on the lift a couple of things concerned me

1.) i saw a white substance under the whole engine under neath. i figured it to be dried up coolant. i dont know were it would be coming from. i dont think the heads b/c the truck was not smoking at all and no leaks while running were present.

2.) were the tranny was there was a black rectangular rubber piece and it seemed that oil was or did leak from there. some one told me it was the rear main seal but i really dont know.

3.) sounded like a small exhaust leak when i started her up cold but went away in about 3 min.

other than these things the truck is perfect. what is everyones opinion now that i gave a lil more detail?? thank you

this is what i was talking about headgaskets from the turbo overboosting. you dont see it come from the exhaust because it doesnt leak into the cylinder. what happens is cylinder pressure gets into the cooling system causing puking at the degas bottle.

your prolly gonna need warrenty work for puking but it shouldnt cost you more than $100 deductable.

seeing the truck is in fine shapes i think $31K is a safe bet.

The price is $7-8M too high. Offer them $31M. Is it from a dealer or an individual?

Just because there was no smoke and no "running leaks" does not mean that it isn't head gasket leak. The leaks will generally show when boost is high.

Also, rarely is it a rear main seal leak. More common to have a bed plate leak.

it i from a chevy dealer i offered them 35 and walked away. now what is a bed plate?? like i said it is leaking from the tranny and from a black recatangular piece of rubber. now how do i know if the trucks heads are blown and if they are fixed?? should ford of fixed it when the turbo went bad? the oasis does not say anything about head gaskets. now if i get the truck i am going to put arp head bolts and obiously new gaskets will this happen again?

if ford had fixed it, oasis would show it.

sounds like your set on the truck and unless the dealer is stupid he will take.

best thing for you to do is wait for the problem to manifest itself and takes it into a good ford dealer with a master diesel tech.

unless the truck is flagged no warrenty your golden and it might not even be the head gaskets. i would think if it was flagged oasis would show but that i dont know.

not likely to happen again if fixed right. what Bis was saying these things can leak from a lot of places and its not where it looks like its coming from but ford will fix that too.

no not all a few in white. why would a truck be flagged no warentee? is there a forum for good diesel techs at ford dealers? or can anyone find out if they have a good diesel tech as a ford dealer? in otherwords i live in monroe connecticut and have about 7 ford dealers to choose from and dont know which one has good diesel techs. they all say they are better than the other. is there a forum for this anywere?

also the dealer did not take the deal at the time i offered. they want 37400. that is the lowest they are going and i told them the lowest i am going is 35000 with a 15000 trade in. only time will tell now if they take it or not but ya they are stupid if they dont but these dealers a stupid.
