Cuda_jim,
I stand corrected. You are right as rain. Somewhere sometime ago on this forum someone told me in answer to a question that you don't need to fill the bowl, just turn on the Ign, 3X. This gives you the opportunity to check for leaks as well as make sure that fuel pump beneath the drivers seat (Bottom of Veh) is operating as it should. I never checked, It never leaked and I never paid any attention to the pump mainly because I'm mostly deaf.
Live and learn.

Roger, The newer diesel trucks have electric fuel pumps. All the gassers are electric, that might be were the confusion comes from.

Joe, Filling the fuel bowl makes restating faster and easier on the injectors. Why not fill it?!!

TN, DO NOT USE LUCAS, it foams the oil.

Some just dump all 4 gallons into the engine. It raises the level less than 1/4 inch.
