Question Flare Side to Style Side

I have a 1992 FlareSide. I hate flare sides. Truck was a gift horse so i'm not going to look it in the mouth, but I would still like to make some improvements.

I want to convert it to a standard style side bed. I'm sure i can come up with a bed from one of the local scrap yards on the cheap.

Anyone done this before? Is this a straight forward swap? Aside from the bed what parts will i need? I'm guessing that the rear lights are different on the bed styles. What about the filler neck? On the flare side its on the back side of the wheel well, can i just rotate it for the side of a style side?

What bed will fit? do i need to look for a 9th generation F-150 or will the 7th and 8th generation beds work too?

The truck is a total beater so looks are at the bottom of the concerns list.

I'm in the philadelphia area. if you are remotely close i'll do the swap with you.

just a heads up: the truck is the "Night" edition. I don't know what that means other than this goofy blue to purple fade thick pin stripe down the sides. The bed is in fair condition, it has its share of scratches (fiber glass).

I went from a styleside on an 84 to a step side, the only real difference on those were the taillight wiring. On the 92 and up the taillight lens are the same but I did notice the gas tank door is behind the rear wheel, Ford made some of those F-150's with two tanks so you may have to find a bed compatible and just not use the front tank door.

I just want to chime in and say I can never keep the flare side and style sides straight. Why don't they call it straight side or something?

Easy to remember. Flareside has fenders that FLARE out from the sides of the truckbed, and the styleside is MORE STYLISH (my opinion )

for some reason i wanna say the rear bumper is narrower as well as the tailgate so yours wont work with a styleside bed.

The tailgate is definitely narrower but I believe the bumper is the same...
