coolant change

I'm due for the 30,000 mile coolant change on my 99 F-250 PSD. Can anyone tell me where the block drains are located? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would just reccommend going to the Auto Zone or Checker and get a Hanes teardown manual. it will answer this question and many more.

There are two plugs in the block. One on either side. They are low and just above the oil pan. They have square heads on mine. Hope this helps.

hi,
what kind of tool do you use on those square head plugs? As best as I can tell, they are 3/8 inch squares and a 12 point 5/8 regular socket does kinda sorta fit, but I am afraid that going that route would damage the head.

I have seen eight point "square" sockets, but they seem to be for impact wrenches and don't come is a size that small.

Turn a socket with 1/2" drive around and put the non-business end over the square bolt. Then put an allen socket of the appropriate size into the business end of the socket and turn it with the driver and extention.

If it's 3/8", just use that instead of 1/2".

thanks for the info.
it looks like jury rigging is the the way to go.
also, i can find the plug on the left side of the truck, but i did not fine the one on the right. it kinda looks like a sensor is in that place, lots of interference kinda makes it hard to see.
