I have an '88 f250 4x4 w/the 5.8L efi. I like the fuel injection (I take the truck in the hills hunting) but would like to lose the emissions stuff (vac. lines, sensors, etc) does anybody know what I can strip out and still run the fuel injection? Does anybody sell dummy sensors? Thanks.

Pretty much the only thing you can remove and still keep the sensors the computer needs to run is the smog pump and related vacuum lines. I'd keep the EGR attached and working, and you have to have the sensors so the computer knows what conditions the engine is operating in.
That is not true, you just need to fool the computer that the egr is still
connected.. A simple thing to do with electronics and an electronic controlled
motor.
I did it on many 5.0 swaps in old vehicles.. trust me ITS not needed!
Unless you live in Cali
You need the EGR for EFI, otherwise the mixture will be lean when the computer thinks the EGR valve should be open. It doesn't hurt anything by leaving it functioning, nor does it help anything by removing it, so why not just leave it alone and avoid the problems.
Thanks for the help guys! 69crewcab: I tried to e-mail but due to the fact that I haven't had 15(?) responses to my post and I haven't been a member long enough I am not able to e-mail direct. Perhaps you could e-mail me?
