so what about if i am going down the road and the truck wanders like im drunk and when i turn the steering wheel its like a delayed reaction then it jerks back over.
It could be a bad box are maybe just needs some adjustment. Most alignment shops can check it out for you and if it's not to bad they can tighten it up some. If the box is to worn out then you'll need to replace it.
I ment if it still under warrenty why not just let Ford replace it now and then worry about it when and if it goes out again? I know you won't be able to fend off the lure of a new truck forever.
Lets put it this way.. The lift kit was installed by Ford at my request upon purchasing of my truck.. The steering box, pitman, draglinks and tie rods were damaged due to Ford's failure to install the lift kit right and loctite the correct bolts. The bolts that caused the failure/damage were ones specifically labled in Donahoe's instructions as "LOC-TITE MUST BE APPLIED"..
So after a call to Ford about the situation, I got the good ol' "My lift expert wouldn't do that.. We're not covering it, thats normal wear and tear on a lift".. Bull*.. Pitman arm does not just drop to the safety pin after 15k miles.. So I told him to take his job, my warranty and that money I paid him and shove it right up his rear end.. I'll never do business with that Ford house again..
As for warranty.. Nobody is going to warranty it, if I take it to MacHaik, they won't do anything. They didn't install the lift kit.. So in the end I'm paying the bill which is fine.. At least this time I know its done right.. I thought Ford would take care of me since I paid flat cash on the table for this truck.. I should have been concerned when it took them 2 1/2 days to put my lift kit on.. I didn't think anything about it..
