transmission probs
im trying to get some info for a friend...he has a 96 f350 standard cab 7.3l and is haveing some trans issues... from what hes explained to me it sounds like the trans control module....he says sometimes it doesnt wanna shift and sometimes it wants to shift through all the gears b4 30mph and when these things happen the OD light wants to flash at him...he says putting it in park will solve the prob temporaraly...or shutting the truck off...can anyone give me some insight on this?

First place to look is the VSS on the rear differential. Make sure the contacts are clean and there is a good connection. If thats looks good he will really need to get the truck scanned for Codes. Since the OD lite was/is flashing it will have a code stored and that will us where to start looking.
