I have tons of cool tools but you can't see them under all the junk on my work benches! Someday I'll move out in the boonies and have enough room to get something done. I also like the parts washer next to the toilet, but I would have mounted it a little closer so that you can brush the parts while your busy on the stool. Jag
Heres some pics of my new shop still have a ways to go.. This shop is strickly for the 54. everything elce stays in the garage.
Its no garagemahaul, but I like it..
Clean?? Uncluttered??? Man, what a SICK mind!!!
I did some rearranging and clean-up today...I think I'm going to hold off working much more on the truck, other than parts collecting, until I get the shop somewhat like I want it. I just have had too many hobbies over the years - there are two telescopes, an extensive DJ/Karaoke set up, three or four remote control airplanes (the smallest with a 90" wingspan!!), a complete woodshop, horiz. and vertical bandsaws, Arc welder, Mig welder, Atlas 10" X 42" lathe, two drill presses, 8" jointer, 2 table saw, 2 chop saws, oxy/acet. tanks, parts washer, 50" X 50" sandblast cabinet, 60 gallon air compressor, with 50 gallon reservoir tank, three roll arounds, refrigerator, shelving units, planer....and more!! Basically, a complete Metal working shop, Wood shop, Mechanics shop, with a really bitchin' sound system (4800 watts! 7 Speakers!)...
Just too much crap!!! But, as soon as I get rid of anything, I find I needed it. So, I guess I'll keep organizing...

Actually, it now has a self-flushing valve on it, courtesy of the local high school doing a complete remodel...probably one of the only pole barns with a $700 urinal!! But, was bound and determined to have one over there. The lot across the street bacame available when the old lady owner passed away, so I put the pole barn up. It's smack in the middle of town, but zoned industrial, so I can do whatever I want! Plus, the back side fronts the main drag, so I kept that address. Couldn't imagine ANYthing being better!!!!
I've worked on ford trucks in the past like this.... in a driving rain laying underneath it working on transmission linkage with the rain running like a creek down my shirt collar...
If it keeps you from doing that ??? it's a garagemahal !!! Now...get it dirty.
Is this shop too small? I have a 3 car garage double deep on one side. The truck gets pushed in the back for storage and pushed out to the 2 wide space when I'm working on it. Not ideal but I did manage to finish my last kit car in this shop lol. My wife insists on parking her car in the garage so I always have to put things away overnite.
At least its usually warm enough to work in the garage year round in Texas.
It's a 16" South Bend! 1944 model and the mill is a Cincinnati Toolmaster 1959 model. That's when they built them to last a lifetime!! (or two) I got some pics of the lathe and mill, but I didn't get them loaded onto the gallery yet. SOON I hope. I have to depend on my wife or my buddy to put this stuff on here. I get mad at it!! I can do almost anything to a truck, but I'm not real computer literate??
Nice combination Terry! My 13" Southbend is a mid 60's (which I rebuilt) and the Bridgeport is an early J head (about 1960). I play around with other cars that require a lot of machine work but the machines come in handy for the rod work on the truck. Once you have the equipment there is no end to the things that you find yourself doing with them.

I guess I neglected to say, No actual work has taken place in this shop yet, been building it over the summer. Its not done yet, just moved the 54 in a few weeks ago. as you can the TV still needs mounted up, and need to install the beverage keeper colded holder.

She'll be dirty soon, I also made it air tight with closeable air intakes from the ceiling. With a little cleaning, I'm thinkin paint booth I now can retire my tent booth.
Crap! Now you guys have done it. No matter how hard I try to fight it, sometimes I just can't help it and I get inspired. So, tonight I'm cleaning up the work benches and tossing out what I don't need! Oh yea, feel the burnnnn. Jag
Oh Well...... I have 6 inches of soot from the fires on everything in my shop. So I guess I'll need to clean it and then take a photo or two.... just to make you think it's always that clean........
Its a good site with some garages you wouldn't believe. Its owned by the jalopy journal which features the H.A.M.B. for traditional hot rods.

Currently working in my double attached garage (22'x24') that is just enough room but I just bought the neighbouring lot and am planning on building a 28'x32' or 36' garage in the spring. Thanks for the link AZA also thanks to Truxx for starting the post now I will have plenty to consider when planning my lay out and location for power, air, lighting, etc, etc, etc...
