4.6 prone to blowing head gaskets?

4.6 prone to blowing head gaskets?
Seems like a couple of 97-01 ford truck in my area are for sale with "blown head gaskets". Is this a common failure for the 4.6 engine ?
Some are pretty good deals I'm considering buy one of the ones I see for sale and fixing it to keep.
So how common is this problem?
Does it require simply replacing the gaskets and Mill heads if needed?
Or most likely the whole motor needs to be replaced?

I'm not aware of any well known problems with head gaskets and the 4.6. I have a 98 4.6 and its given me 130,000 trouble free miles. I think the 4.2 V6's had some issues early on though with head gaskets going on them but I think Ford fixed that after a couple years. Can't say for sure though...
