I Inhereted A 1971 F100 From My Son. I Would Like To Convert The Brakes To Vacuum Assist. Can Someone Please Tell Me What I Will Need Beside The Booster Pump?
There should be a mounting bracket that uses a lever system between the petal and booster. I have a photo some where, may be in my gallery. When I converted my 68 to power disk from a 72, I took everything related to the brakes, including the petal. In you case I thing all you need is the bracket system, under the hood.
You will need a different master cylinder. The rod on non power brakes is fastened into the master cylinder. You will also need the bracket for the booster. If you can't find a 67-72 booster, 73-79 boosters should work. I just did an upgrade on my 70 with parts from a 79.
The 73-79 boosters will work.On the 67-72 parts, the 67's used a different pedal than 68-72.They also used a different setup for the stop light switch.I'd suggest a 68 & up booster to save some hassles.
