Brake booster
I have a 1970 F-250 with a hissing noise coming from the brake booster "sounds like it anyway". When I put my brakes on at a stop light the leaking vacuum almost stalls the motor. The brakes still seem to work OK but I don't know for how long. I bought another booster from a parts truck but I have no idea if it works. How can I check it out without installing it? Any idea? The second question is.... I've found a good working brake booster from a 1975 F-100. I know it's larger but has anyone tried to change it over? Let me know. My truck has drum brakes. The seventy five I forgot to check but I believe it's disc. brakes. Thanks in advance.

Brake booster
Hook the replacement booster up to your original vacuum source and listen for the hissing. If you don't hear it, then it is probably fine. If the new one will bolt up to your firewall, then it should work ok with your system.
