has anyone put a dual exhaust system on there i6. if you have, could you tell me if it sounds nice and if you got any more power. im debating wether or not to put it on my i6.
also, if you have found out another way to get an i6s exhaust loud, id really appriciate it if you would tell me.
I understand a single exhaust is better for the I6. A wide open Flowmaster will make it louder, but the cats are supposed to cut a lot of the sound. I am happy with the volume of mine and it cost pennies (see my mod to stock exhaust in my gallery). It is hillbilly , but it works for me.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-Nov-02 AT 07:29 PM (EST)]i have a 91 f250 with duals, it doesn't sound the best(kinda like a peed off bumble bee) but it is loud as all get out. i have 2inch runing to dual glass packs, with no converters(i live in canada hehe)
,and 2.5 from packs out and i have the 3.5 x 18 inch boomer chrome tips. it will make your chest pound if you are standing outside it, but i am wanting to change to flowmasters to get a deeper sound
I would stick with a single 2.5" pipe from the catalyst back and no muffler at all. I ran mine that way for a while because I was broke and couldn't affor a muffler. Fairly loud, good performance gain. Then I put on headers, no cat, Flowmaster 2 chamber and gained a ton of performance and a very nice sound. The only problem is the interior resonance.

hi TallPaul where is this gallery? I cant fint it .
On my old F150 and it the 300 6 in it. I had a y pipe 2 tailpipes no muffler on it with 22" echo tips on there. Start it first thing in the morning, the rpm's would get up rounf 17 or 1800 rpm and it you could feel it in your chest that;s when it counts, lol! I loved it, lost some low end but had alot more top end though. That's what gets me about exhaust systems, you got to find that right balance between low and top end or unless your not concerned about that:P My truck would sound alittle ricey as the rpm's got up around 2500 or 3K, I still loved it!!!! Just my .02, later man

Not sure if the website location was temporarily unavailable, but I just went in clicking on the photo of three trucks and then clicking on "My Trucks." Try again I guess.
I have dual EFI manifolds, no cats (they're overrated-it passed emmissions), with Dynomax mufflers, and out the side. I used 2" pipe, and 2 1/4" mufflers. I can't remember what series they are, but they sound good. Everybody in my local Ford Truck Drivers circle runs them, and loves them. The best part is, they are only around $40 each. I ran the 2" pipe to give a little back pressure, as no cats=no pressure. It still has awesome torque, too. I was fooling around the other day, and going down the road at around 20 mph in 3rd gear, around 1800 rpm, I was bouncing the front end. Not completely off they ground, but when it came back down, it hit the bumpstops.
