I guess I am the weird one, I am partial to my chrome map light. I was surprised to see one of them in there when I bought my truck. It brought back memories from childhood, painful memories but memories none the less.
When I was a little kid, my parents drove a 1978 Mercury Cougar, it was an amazing car, I loved that thing, will hopefully restore it someday. anyway, It had that exact same map light and every single time i crawled from the front seat into the back seat, I banged the crap out of my head on that little thing.
I dont know why all your lenses are yellowing on you, mine broke, so I went out into the old Cougar and pulled the lense off of it, perfectly white and looked brand new and that lense is almost 30 years old.

ok, so you go and buy the aftermarket lense for the old chrome lamp, they are clear not white, alot better light output. for those who would like to do the late style lamp i have a pair of them from my cougar, the one is the large style the other is the small style. both grey . id take $10. +ship
