Power window switches
Have an '04 f150 xlt scab. Does anyone know if the power buttons on the driver's side door all light up at night? On mine all the switches are lit up except the window lock/unlock switch. I thought they all lit up before but I'm not sure. Thanks.

I don't think the window lockout switch lights up. Just the window switches and door lock/unlock switch.
Do you know if the door lock/unlock switch on the front passenger door is supposed to light up? Mine doesn't but I don't think it ever did/is supposed to???

I have an XLT and all four of mine light up. The switch in the other doors is lit also unless I cut them off by the window lock on the drivers side. Some older cars used a type of fiberoptic light for this but today the light is actually in the switch and most likely not repairable.
LACityFD: The switches are one assembly that must be replaced as a group. Even so the express down requires a special relay that simply keeps power on for a certain amount of time. It isn't actually not the switch that is doing the work.

Just had mine changed at the dealer because 2 lites were out only reason is I had warranty, but they come as a unit all four switches are in a connected set and they all change out together. My guess is they are made in china???

We had another post on this once before.... hhnnmm I think...
But anyhow... I managed to take a window switch apart that I had here on my desk, to only find a board mounted LED/fiber type of light. So unless your really handy with a soldiering iron- it would be best/easier to replace the switch.
(Iirc the sw. wasn't more than 15-20 bux a piece- I purchased them for a upcoming mod.)
