Does anyone know how many grease fitting I would have on my 1990 F350 Diesel, and how often they need to be greased? ? I want to lube them but dont want to leave any out.
well i would imagine 4 on the ball joints, 2 on the tie rods, one on the pitman arm joint, possibly 4 on the u,joints on the 2 driveshafts if you have a 4x4. thats what i can think of. when your under there just take a good look at all of your steering components.
you'll see the grease start to come out of the sides. thats when i would stop. you can also see the joint boots fill up with grease and you can stop then also.
You might also have some on the u-joints on the front axle shafts. But grease zerks are all dependent on WHICH parts were installed. Some u-joints and tie rod ends don't come with grease zerks...
I did not find any on eather drive shaft. What are the grease fittings on top of the front brakes?
The grease zerks, if you have them, are going to be screwed into the cross-sections of the u-joints at the ends of the driveshafts. Again, not all u-joints are greaseable.
What you see on the brakes are not grease zerks, those are bleeder screws. Do not try to grease them
That wouldnt be good, but I know what a bleeder valve looks like and these are defenently grease fitting. They are pointing stright up from a piece on top of my front brake calipers.
