please help can't find problem
I have a 99 ranger with 2.5L with 120000 miles. The other day when I tried to start it the motor started but jumped and skipped very bad like it jumped timing. So i checked and changed timing belt but no change. So not having time for much else took to shop and they checked timing belt and say all looks good and no errors on computer. when the motor is turned over it sometimes seems fine and starts but runns ruff and then dies. But most of the time it turns over then it stops and runs backwards. the guy at the shop said the crankshaft pulley may have turned but without a picture of keyway position he want know. Does anyone have any ideas or a pic of a crankshaft pulley. If this is not enough info let me know. Thanks Dennis

This engine uses a coil pack and crank trigger to set the timing. I would suspect a problem in this area sounds like it is to far advanced. Or it is wired wrong or you are some how getting a cross fire. Hence the kick back you expierence. Check the wiring order and the condidtion of the wires.
