new wheels..

i was looking around and i found crager wheels at summitracing.com. the "soft 8" in black seems to be a great deal. (approx $40/rim) i know to run a 15X8.

i went to tire rack to get my bolt pattern and it says 5X139.7... does that also translate into 5X5.5? also, what offset if any?

thanks

YES 139.7 / 25.4= 5.5 those are the same rims I plan on getting for my truck. I want the 15X10 but I'm sure I'll end up going with the 15X8s. I plan on running a 275 or 295 50 15. I hope that helps.

yes it does... very much... what about the offset? does that matter or will plan out 5X5.5 work?

15X10 would look sick, and if had a 351 in the truck i probably would but ya cant really race around with the 4.9liter haha

The 15X8s have a 4" backspacing so that would put the mounting surface in about the center of the rim. After looking at the specs on summit it says the 15X8 has a -12mm offset which is little less than half an inch. I don't much about offset except its the relationship of the mounting surface to the centerline of the rim. Here's a link to some information http://www.conceptonewheels.com/fitment.html I'm pretty sure though that these rims will fit with no problems.

There's a pic of some on a Jeep Liberty in this guy's signature. http://www.jeepkj.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1463 and some on a ch**y http://gastiresoil.blogsome.com/images/bfg1.jpg and some one on here has some but I can't remember his name, I remember the truck is kinda goldish color.
Here he is I found it in the galleries.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...?albumid=13465 well after looking closer I guess those are different but they look close enough to give you an idea.

so.. the bigger the off set, the further out the rim will sit because it mounts more torwards the inner part of the rim?

does anyone know the offset on the factory 15" rims?

Yes that is right just like the backspacing, the less the backspacing the more negative the offset is, making the wheel stick out and giving a deep dish look. Thats why I like the 15X10s with only 4" of backspacing. I don't have a clue what the factory offset is but probably pretty close to 0.
