Trans fluid leaking out right side of dash.

A spot of red fluid on the floor at my right foot. Doesn't smell like brake fluid so I look up under the dash and see the speedometer cable is wet. Trans fluid is climing the cable. What's wrong?

Breather on top of the tranny clogged? Too much tranny fluid in the tranny? It should come out of the dipstick before it comes out of the speedo cable.

i have the same problem, i replaced the origianal cable a few days ago and the new one is making a big mess my transmission was just serviced but the old one worked fine except in cold weather, but i have no idea what to do either maybe replace the cable and gear again, im stumped on this one

AFAIK there should be a breather or vent tube on the tranny; if so, why is it not working (properly)? I'd then be inclined to slightly lower the level of tranny fluid contained within.
