I may be getting my hands on a set of good AA code injectors (8 of them) for a very good price. My thought is to buy the DIY stage 3 kit (230cc hybrid) for them and set off to work on those over the winter and put them in in the spring when i do my clutch. my question is....how will these work with my stock hpop? i think ive heard on here that the hybrids are fine so long as the stock hpop is in good working order. i can occassionally throw a code for the hpop if i really jam on it hard with the 160cc stage ones so im a bit hesitant on the stage 3's. wuddya guys think??
Hybrids were designed to work with stock 17* HPOP's, thats why they call them hybrids. True 530's seem to work the best with big oil, hybrids aren't made for it. I cant remember who but somebody is making or has made a set of hybrids that can work with big oil but for the life of me I cant remember who.
As far as the 160's bein all the 17* HPOP can handle, well lets just say I've never heard about that. Dosn't mean its not true, just hard for me to believe since luke ran his 230's off a stock HPOP and made I think he said 450rwhp. I do remember him sayin it wasn't as good as big oil but it still worked
The hybrids will run on a 17* pump. They can run on a 15* also but 17* is better. pretty much any injectors can run on a single pump. They just won't perform as well or be nearly as effecient. The fuel won't atomize, and all sorts of other things. Big oil is good for even stock injectors especially for the Superduties running AD's
hybrids will work great on a 17* pump. 230cc's is alot of fuel and will be a little smokey with a small turbo. You will need a fuel system to get all fuel out of those injectors, but if you do a fuel system you'll need to do headstuds. Hybrids are some fun injectors, i made 550 rwhp #2 only with a regular ol set of hybrids and a single stock hpop.
Hybrids will work with dual hpop too, not sure where you heard that they wouldnt work.
i was really hoping you were going to say that, luke! so im assuming head studs are going to be a necessity in the near future, along with an upgraded fuel system. any suggestions for the fuel system? i knew i should have gone with that h2e instead of the d66! lol.
the d66 will be fine for now. IMO do studs when you do a fuel system. I dont know how extreme you plan on going but beans fuel system is a great platform to start with. I am using beans obs setup on my superduty now, with the only modification being adding a second pump in series with the existing pump. It will not maintain 65 psi since i have the stock intank stuff but it is supporting in excess of 550 rwhp at the moment. I will be going to a fass system soon though.
the set that went for $510? if so caseydudem was bidding on those too at some point.
if your planning on 230 hybrids you can use either AA's or AD's to start with an it will be the same cost. AD's are cheaper to buy usually. I have a set I will be selling soon. PM me if you are interested.
