Intercooler with stage 1's????

Im getting ready to get the DIY stage 1 rebuild done. Will I need a intercooler with these injectors. And will my stock HPOP handle these?

Stock HPOP is fine- With DIY stage 1's you changed the plunger, but not the intensifier piston. What this means is you got more fuel at a lower pressure, for the same amount of high pressure oil.
An intercooler will benefit at any power level, and that would help your EGT's some, but with 1's and supporting mods it probably isnt necessary. Do you have gauges? that is definately necessary!

If you don't do any towing you will be fine with egt's I just got II's and I am fine. But I haven't towed yet and prtobably won't till I get the cooler.
Your stock HPOP will more than likely be fine with I's. Worst case scenario it will throw a CEL but it will still run fine. I put in a 17* and won't set the CEL till 3000+ RPM.

x3. you NEED gauges however. You can always add an IC down the road, time and money permitting.

Right because you dont know for sure how high your EGT's are until you have a gauge.
EX: if neal lives at 1000 ft above sea level and you live at 4000 ASL, he's going to get alot more air in the chamber alot easier than you are. so while his EGT's may be well in check, if you assume, you may melt pistons.
Also keep in mind each truck is different in ways!

Also, just to be sure, do you have the proper supporting mods? like an exhaust and intake?

I don't think that's correct. The only thing that changes in an injector from stock to Stage 1 IS the intensifier piston. The plunger and barrel assembly stays the same.

My mistake!
you were right. I read somewhere (cant remember where) that you changed the plunger.

Ok so the stock HPOP and no inter-cooler are fine with stage 1 DIY's but what about the stage 2's? Would i have to run a 17* or something more to safely run these?

If you plan on any serious towing or hauling you are going to need an IC if you want to run your chip. Running empty or lightly loaded you'll be fine. Loaded heavy or towing, it's drive by pyro and keep turning the chip down and downshifting till you can hold speed and keep EGT in check. I just finished a 6L IC a while back and it makes a huge difference in my rig. By the way, I still have the stock 15 degree HPOP and have no problems with it. I don't have a scanner yet to monitor ICP or duty cycle, but I don't set the CEL the way I drive.

You would see more with 2's if you did upgrade your HPOP. I think you can still run them with the stocker, but you wont see the full power.
Also, if you are running the stocker, and bigger injectors, you may see a CEL for low oil pressure when you hit the throttle.
Not too long ago Neal (username???edit: neal 97 f250) installed stage 2's with a 17*. He can still get a CEL at WOT.
So if you do 2's, upgrade your pump!

Yup mine are 180 cc but I can hit a cel around 3000-3100 RPM. It doesn't usually light but I can make it do it pretty easy.

ok, the reason i ask is becuase i can afford the diy stage 2 160cc injectors and then the SD HPOP but not both at the same time. I was just wundering if i would have to wait to put in the injectors. Thanks

No. Go for the injectors first. It will be the biggest expense.
Then get the HPOP when you get time. I got mine from flea bay for $350. Or the IH dealer has them for around $375 with a ~$700 core charge. Those are the 2 cheapest places I could find. I liked the e-bay because I could keep the old one and stack them one day.
