full throttle stumble

full throttle stumble

what will cause a high RPM miss or stumble. this only happens on acceleration.


my mods are BTS dual HPOP,injectors,H2E turbo,DP Tuner,6637 filter, external reg fuel system,fuel bowl delete,BTS trans. these are the major mods,could any of these cause the high end full throttle stumble?

You've eliminated the HP oil problem with the dual-HPOP, you have an excellent tuner, a big-dog turbo, and big injectors (I guess -- which ones do you have?). The only thing I could think of that might cause it is a bit of fuel starvation. Do you have a completely upgraded system from the tank to the heads or is some of it stock? Is it tossing any codes? Any smoke?

I changed the oil and filter and the problem appears to be gone. I was running royal purple oil apparently the PSD doesn't like it.

That's interesting -- RP is supposed to be really good stuff. How many miles were on it and what did you put in to replace it??

on the oil note i was using ats diesel oil full synthetic... truck didnt like that either it had an off kilter ilde sounded like the timeing was off or missin on a cyclinder didtnt make me to happy for the price

I was going to suggest that you were bouncing off of the rev limiter.
I am also curious on what kind of oil was used this time around.

I put schaffers full sythetic back in , I've ran that since the truck was new and had no problems. I just up and decided to try the RP this time and it did fine under normal driving but at full throttle at the strip last weekend it fluttered and stumbled.I haven't tried the schaffers in the new 08 yet has anyone heard of any problems with it in the new 6.4 ?

I haven't heard anything, but I'm sure Schaeffers will do fine it. But then again, I thought the same thing about RP...

BTW, how'd you do at the track, even with the stumble at WOT?

maybe the mix of the 2 oils didnt agree.making air bubbles in the oil.much like adding additives to the oil..check this out
