Rize 8" kit?

Anyone one here have this kit and what size tires are you running? I want to do this kit and run 36's if possible but need to know exactly what I need to do to the truck besides just installing the lift. I am looking for info on the correct rim size so there is no rubbing and if the truck will need to be re-geared with 36in tires. Also I was wondering if there ever has been a problem with CV axles on these trucks due to the bigger tires.

Oh I have a 2007 FX4 extended cab Flareside with the 5.4, leather interior blah blah blah hahahah...thanks in advance guys!

if you're actually doing alot of 4x4, the cv joints will die pretty quickly. sucks.

if it'll just be a street princess, then the only real worry you'll have is the ball joints.

these trucks look amazing with huge lifts, but the front end just wasn't designed with it in mind. I hear that the Rize kit is pretty good quality though.

if all you want to do is run 36's, you can do it a bit cheaper than a rize kit.... you could add a 1.5 or 2" leveling kit and an add-a-leaf to a 6" lift kit. this would even possibly clear 37's. depending on what kit you get the manufacturer will let you know the rim sizing needed.

Well, I want to install the kit myself, I have the mechanical knowledge to do it and the resources (tools, lift, and BEER) but I just don't know about combining kits. Since I have never done a lift myself before I figured it would be easier to just do one kit and be done with it. If i have to do the 6" kit then add the add-a-leaf and leveling kit I wouldn't know what to look for if I was to do something wrong ya know? Or is it something you can't really screw up unless your a total bonehead? Plus the components of the rize kit looked like high quality parts and the fact that it comes with Bilsteins was another plus. Keep the comments comin guys, I wanna learn more!

I take it offroad seldomly so it will mostly be a street looker. The truck only gets about 50 miles a week put on it because I have a commuter car. So this is one of the reasons I decided to do the lift, also because I have always wanted a full size lifted truck, they look BAD ***! Have to get a drop hitch for the toy trailer but it will be worth it! Anyway, since it won't see a whole lot of offroad use I figured the CV's will last awhile with the limited mileage the truck gets.

i just ordered an RCD lift..... not installed yet, waiting on tires, but man it looks really good. comes with bilsteins, stainless front brake lines, only uses one block in the rear... is adjustable from 4 or 6", and costs about 2500.... i was about to haggle for mine, got it for 2300 with free shipping. a little cheaper than rize, but smaller too. adding a leveling kit plus add-a-leaf is very simple to do. if you do a search, there are a few people doing that already, running 37's or 38's. if you go above a 35, then re-gearing will probably be in your future. thats why i chose the 35's most seem fine with them... afterall, these trucks arent supposed to be drag trucks !!

I think I got mixed up, the RCD comes with the bilsteins, not the Rize. I just like the look of the Rize kit, it looked like very high quality machine work with good materials. So you think anything over 35's would need regearing?

Ok, with a little more research I'm thinking the 6" lift would be fine now, who knows, I really want the 8" lift though hahaha
