I have 2 sets of 390 heads and one set of 352, one sets #'s are (4A18 &4A24), another set is (1A27 &1A21), and the other is (5E7 & 5D3 this set has FoMoCo on them.) Thanks for any help to ID the heads.
Possum, look between the middle two spark plugs on the heads for the casting number. The numbers you posted are date codes and are not much help in identifying your heads.

What year do you think is the best non-hipo heads for a 390FE? As in the smallest chambers, largest valves, and possibly best port dimension. My heads are C8AE-H I think. The CC size is 68 to 72cc, with 2.02I and 1.65E size valves. This is just a standard cylinder head, but I figure have respectable numbers.

The C6AE-R heads are identical as far as ports to the 428CJ, but you'll have to install the oversize 428CJ valves.
