Does anybody make a 2X4 intake manifold to fit a 390. I woulds like to run holley carbs though. I have seen a couple of maniflods but you can not run holley carbs on them.
Can see my truck at http://www.angelfire.com/ok/jwtimmerman
LAST EDITED ON 21-Nov-00 AT 04:03 PM (EST)[p]Lets see. I know edelbrock and weiland make 2x4s. I think offenhauser makes a low profile 2x4 and holley may as well. Get a Summit Racing catalog or a PAW catalog. They are full of good stuff.
Try going to Ebaymotors.com and search for "428" or "Ford 427"
They always have good intakes for bid...aftermarket and original Ford. Look at item #505877219. Its a Offenhauser 2x4. Starting bid $50!
If you can pick up a collectors Mustang and Ford mag. there is a ad for 4x2's in it. I cannot find my mag. I was just looking at the ad the other day. Good luck.
Justin,
The stock Ford 2x4 manifold bolts on any FE motor, but there is some problems that you could run into based on true LR ports. The manifolds came with Holley 4160's, The any newer 4160, I believe, will fit length and bolt pattern wise but linkage /throttle plates could need to be modified. Holley does sell a pair that is for this purpose.
4150's with two metering blocks will not fit due to the center line spacing on the manifold which was designed for the single metering block 4160's. I have talked to people who have redrilled the manifolds to mount a pair turned 90 degrees but requires total new linkage.
