Shifter Knob Problem

I had my windshield guy glue mine on with a squirt of windshield urethane in the ****. I don't think it's EVER coming back off. Only problem is he angled the numbers just enough it bothered me. I rotated the center (which was solid before) one click and now it's loose. 
Oh well, that's better than the **** coming off all the time.
I think the PO had some other shift **** on mine or tried to get it off the wrong way as the splines are all rounded and there's a small hole drilled in the stick.
It's the only flaw I've found from a PO on this truck.
